DESIGNING YOUR OWN UNIQUE SEQUENCES─A WORKSHEET

          This worksheet is provided so you can begin to design the sequences that will more effectively target your specific concerns. Play with it until you can make the process of tapping your own. Always begin by getting a sense of where you are and where you want to go. What is your concern? How do you feel about that concern? And how do you want to feel about this concern? That way, you design statements that reflect the challenge, the goal and the conviction of a new response. Once you get comfortable with creating your sequences this tool will become one of your most important remedies for distress.

Focus for the Tapping Setup: When you are designing the setup phrases for this tapping sequence you may want to revisit or redo to the weeding-out exercise you did in the previous section. This will give you an idea of what your goal is in this tapping. Then use the reminder phrases to address all of the aspects of your concern.

Now refer to your responses above and use the worksheet on the next page to design your unique reminder phrases. Remember, you are moving first through your negative feelings, then to the possibility of change, then to a conviction for change. Come up with a reminder phrase for each endpoint. Then tap on this point 5–7 times while repeating your phrase.

 Repeat sequences, altering words accordingly, until, on a scale from 1–10, you feel at least a 2 or 3. Then proceed. When you are ready to move into the possibility that something different can occur, come up with a reminder phrase for each of the endpoints below, then tap on this point 5–7 times while repeating your phrase.
